One day film summit - February 24, 2012

filmmakers across_borders begins this February in San Antonio...

A one-day summit presented by the San Antonio Film Commission and hosted by Univision's Alfredo Lomeli, that leads directly into CineFestival en San Antonio film festival.  Enjoy the finest in Latino film from around the world this year at the week-long fest.  Now in its 34th edition http://guadalupeculturalarts.org/festivals.htm

We've just confirmed the Friday night screening.  "The Kid: Chamaco", starring Martin Sheen, was produced in Mexico by Don Franken, Kirk Harris and Miguel Necoechea Jr.. Don Franken will be in attendance.

Confirmed Guests

We are pleased to announce the following confirmed guests:
Ted Hope - Ted is an Academy Award nominated producer who has produced over 60 films.  Read his blog at IndieWire

Plutarco Haza - Plutarco along with Drew Mayer-Oakes, created the Filmmakers Across_Borders summit to explore cross cultural collaboration in independent cinema. As an actor, director and writer, his on-screen credits include "Bajo la Sal", "Las Aparicio" and "Hugo vs el Mar"

Jesse Borrego - Jesse  has made his mark both on television and features films, and now as the director of Cine Studio San Antonio

Victor Orozco - Victor is a producer and finance specialist in Mexico City

Don Franken - Don produced our Friday night film "The Kid: Chamaco" (with Martin Sheen) along with producer/actor/writer Kirk Harris, and is currently in post production on "The Sorrow"

Francisco Mendoza - Francisco serves as one of Televisa's interactive producers and most recently produced portions of "Dos Hogares" in San Antonio

Luis Garza - Luis currently serves as programmer for the Monterrey International Film Festival, and shoots film across the world.

** Also confirmed is Univision 41's Tu Estilo's co-host, Alfredo Lomeli to host the summit.  Welcome aboard Freddi!
